Job Description
The Technical Manager must be able to articulate
technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Technical Managers are the primary technical
resource for the sales force. Technical Manager are responsible for
actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with
the sales team as the key technical
advisor and product advocate for our products. Technical Manager should work very closely with System Integrators & partners
in our target market segments. TM must be able to identify all
technical issues of assigned SI/ Partner to assure SI/ partner satisfaction
through all stages of the association.
Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and
partners throughout the sales cycle.
- Responsible for development and delivery of product
demonstrations
- Responsible for representing the product to customers
and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
- Able to respond to functional and technical elements of
RFIs/RFPs
- Able to convey customer/alliance partner requirements
to Product Management teams
- Able to travel throughout sales territory.
- Deepen technical engagement
with partners to improve the customers’ confidence and knowledge about how
Organisation solutions work and how well they perform with partners’
solutions, hence strengthening our value proposition.
Required Skills
The candidate should have expertise in the following protocols in large
scale implementations: L2-L3 switching, Routing protocols, TCP-IP protocol
suite. Knowledge in the following areas is also desired: L4-L7 switching,
Server load balancers, SSL accelerators, Firewalls, IDS/IPS.
- Load Balancers (e.g. Organisation, Foundry,
Alteon, NetScaler, F5, Cisco)
- Network Operating Systems (e.g. IOS, CatOS,
JunOS)
- Server Operating Systems (FreeBSD and Linux)
- Internet Software (Apache, BIND)
- Network monitoring and management (e.g. nagios,
mrtg/rrd, snmp)
- Sniffers and Protocol Analyzers (e.g.tcpdump,
ethereal)
- Scripting (e.g. Shell, Perl, Python)
- Security (e.g. SSL/TLS, VPNs, Firewalling,
IDS/IPS)
- Working knowledge of routing protocols (RIP,
OSPF, BGP)
- An excellent understanding of WAN and LAN
switching and routing, ARP, TCP, IP, HTTP, SMTP, DNS and other related
internet protocols
- A strong working knowledge of secure Web
application delivery
- A strong working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol
stack
- A strong working knowledge of application layer
protocols
- A working knowledge of common switching and
routing products
- In-depth knowledge of Layer 4-7 load balancing
and SSL acceleration
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Must have demonstrable, current experience, of
hands-on technical expertise Background in Networking, Security AND
web-/applications; specifically In depth knowledge of TCP/IP with the
ability to interpret network traces to identify network problems
- Knowledge of HTTP protocol including the security
vulnerabilities associated with it
- Experience in designing or maintaining high availability
networks to include VRRP, Load balancing and dynamic routing protocol
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills,
with ability to articulate complex technology simply.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical
problems. Self-motivated and flexible.
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal and
leadership skills and demonstrate a history of high-level achievement in
cross-functional organizations.
- This position requires a minimum of 6 years of
Networking and security with minimum 3 years Pre-sales experience in
supporting Networking and security products.
