Job Title: Director Engineering
Location: Delhi/Bangalore
Client is developing 5G RAN product Portfolio
with a special focus on CU and DU and are being trailed in one of the largest
NW operators in the world. These products will cater to different form-factor
gNBs like Integrated gNB (both for Outdoor and Indoor) and also O-RAN compliant
CU and DU standalone RAN entities for MACRO deployments. The key to achieve
this is highly flexible and scalable software architecture.
Job Description
o
Overall leader of 5G CU development
o
Leading a team of around 50+ people and achieving
the set objectives
o
Deep interactions with customers and
understanding their requirements and translating the same to Deployment grade
product
o
Interfaces with product line management team to
chart product and customer specific development roadmap
o
Responsible for all aspects of product development
§ Oversight
of project planning, risk mitigation, issue resolution and status reporting
§ Responsible
for overall budgeting, resource management, hiring and people management.
o
Interfaces with HR and other functions for the
effective functioning of the unit
o
Expected to have authoritative and credible
software development background to lead and mentor engineering teams, communicate
intelligently with software architects and implementers, and ensure successful
project planning, execution, and verification.
o
Products and project will require good insights
in to software/technology building blocks as well as realization of complete product
offerings in the form of network elements and appliances, including aspects
such as hardware platform, operations and management, physical environment,
deployment, and support.
o
Interfaces with product groups as required for
meeting company objectives
o
Interfaces directly with Client customers to
discuss new opportunities, assess and scope projects, and communicate status of
existing projects.
o Reports to VP of Engg., Wireless R&D.
Requirements
- Bachelor
of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. MS degree and/or Post-graduate business
education desirable.
- At
least 20 years of experience in telecom product development with protocol
software focus (esp. network side of CU development)
- At
least 10 years of experience in telecom network equipment development
- At
least 8 years of technology project management experience.
- Extensive
experience in managing engineering teams of 40 or more people.
- Excellent
planning and organizational skills
- Sophistication
and maturity in verbal and written communication
- Excellence
in presentation and public speaking skills
- Good insights
in to software development processes
- Knowledge
and experience of using agile software development methods and associated
tools
- Extensive
exposure in customer interfacing and relationship management
- Experience
in distributed program team management, including outsource engineering
contract work.
- Strong
understanding of product life cycle process and experience in managing
complex programs
- Able to
work with little direction and be able to multi-task, handle
- Able to
make good decisions and execute even when faced with ambiguous or missing
requirements.
- Good
understanding of software, hardware and systems.
